INK Group welcomes master toy for Zafari

Toy Plus on board to create toy line for property, launching in autumn 2020.

INK Group is continuing to grow the Zafari brand, welcoming Toy Plus as its new master toy partner.

Toy Plus – which will act as the global master toy – will create an initial line focusing on cuddly plush, figurines and creative play-sets, all due for launch in autumn 2020.

“We are very excited to see the creative and amazing toy line that we know Toy Plus will create,” said Claus Tømming, managing partner at INK Group. “They have great experience in creating toys that appeal to kids in every corner of the world and we have no doubt that the DNA of Zafari will shine through in the toy line and show that sometimes being different makes all the difference… also when it comes to toys.”

The news comes as Zafari – which stars Zoomba, the zebra striped elephant, and his friends as they promote inclusivity and friendship – is making waves in the Italian marketplace.

During the summer, the show proved a hit with a strong launch on Rai Yoyo, while Maurizio DiStefano Licensing has been building the consumer products programme.

Licensees on board in the territory include Clementoni, Ravensburger, Play Press, Multiprint and Pon Pon Edizioni to name a few, with the first products expected to launch in Q4 in time for Christmas.

Annalisa Woods, commercial director at INK Group, commented: “Zafari celebrates the differences between us all and is very relevant in a time where we are experiencing massive changes in the world.

“We are very excited about all the new great partnerships that Zafari are building at the moment, including all the Italian licensees, and we feel privileged that so many wonderful partners want to join us on the Zafari journey to make a difference.”
