The Licensing Q&A… with Angeles Blanco

We delve into the licensing life of Fox Consumer Products’ associate director, international agents.

Angeles Blanco

Associate Director, International Agents, 20th Century Fox, Consumer Products

My route into the licensing industry went something like this…

I picked up a Ms London magazine outside a tube station, spotted an ad that read “Would you like to work with the Pink Panther Monday to Friday?” Well of course I did! The role was to work at CPLG as their European brand manager, and this turned out to be my licensing home for nearly ten years, working with same amazing people.

How many years in the industry?

21 years (I started very young!)

When I was growing up, I had no idea licensing was an industry so I wanted to be…

An airhostess so I could travel the world.

The deal I am most proud of is…

My first master toy deal that I worked on with the late Stan Clutton from Fisher-Price.

My most interesting experience in licensing has been…

It cannot be printed, but feel free to ask when you see me if you are interested! Clue: my horoscope is Taurus…

The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is…

We are not saving lives…

If I wasn’t in licensing, I would be…

In the sports industry.

Who do you admire most in the industry (and why)?

So many! I am very fortunate to have meet some amazing people in the industry, they all have their own qualities/strengths that I admire and continue to receive inspiration from.

In a film of your life, which licensed character would play you?

Lisa Simpson.

If I could change anything about the industry, it would be…

Nothing – so far it has successfully evolved organically and that is how it should continue.
