Richard Hollis, Richard Pink and Louise Ramplin become armchair football pundits.
Euro 2016 kicks off on June 10 and all eyes are on a seemingly rejuvenated England team to bring home some silverware.
To get into the football spirit, all this week The Source will be giving some industry names the chance to be armchair pundits, picking their tournament winners, top scorers and surprises, all with a licensing twist of course.
Today – DreamWorks’ Richard Hollis, Richard Pink from Pink Key Consulting and Topps’ Louise Ramplin.
Richard Hollis, head of international consumer products UK, DreamWorks
Tournament winners? France
Surprise of the tournament? Croatia
England’s chances? They will make the semi final, trail throughout the game, suddenly revive to a dramatic draw in the second half despite having only 10 players and then unexpectedly concede six goals in the last two minutes.
Which licensed character would you play in the England team? The Penguins of Madagascar would make a highly talented midfield four.
Richard Pink, md, Pink Key Consulting
Tournament winners? Germany of course, if not Belgium.
Highest goal scorer? Romelu Lukaku (Belgium)
Surprise of the tournament? Ian Downes finally gets his call up, comes on for the last 10 minutes and nods in the winner to get us through the knock out stages.
England’s chances? Knock outs – Downsie gets injured and is unable to carry the team any further forward.
Which licensed character would you play in the England team? I’d definitely play The BFG in goal – not only could he block it, he’s got a fair old kick on him, too.
Louise Ramplin, head of entertainment marketing, Topps Europe
Tournament winners? Republic of Ireland – when Irish eyes are smiling!
Player everyone will be talking about? Dele Alli (England) – a local boy from Milton Keynes, home of Topps Europe, who is going to light up the Euros.
Surprise of the tournament? Germany to get knocked out by England on penalties.
England’s chances? Knock outs at best.
Which licensed character would you play in the England team? Luke Skywalker as he can bring balance to the team.
