We find out what the winner of last year’s License This has in store for BLE.
The Source highlights a selection of the first time exhibitors and newcomers who will be on the show floor at this year’s Brand Licensing Europe.
Today: OiDroids (A70)
Can you sum up your company and what you do in one handy paragraph?
We design and make OiDroids – robot trading cards which pop out and build into a collection of cool, cute and colourful characters which were born out of a desire to offer more fun and play value than traditional trading cards.
Why did you decide to exhibit at BLE this year?
We were lucky enough to win the License This! competition last year and part of the prize was a stand at this year’s show.
What will you be showcasing on your stand and what kind of visitors will you be looking to attract?
We will be showcasing our brand OiDroids – new characters to collect, a partnership with Jaguar Land Rover with characters based on some of their most iconic vehicles, new and old.
We want to attract licensees and retailers from all territories who are prepared to get behind a new brand, especially one with as much potential as OiDroids. We already have a publishing deal with Hemma for activity books and strong interest from another major publisher in a fiction series. We now need other categories to get behind us.
What are you most looking forward to about BLE?
Seeing the reaction to OiDroids from people steeped in all aspects of the licensing industry.
What would you most like to achieve by exhibiting at BLE this year?
We would like to sign up some partners in some additional core categories such as toys, digital and apparel to build on the great start we’ve already made.
Brand Licensing Europe runs from October 11-13 at London’s Olympia. Head to the official website – www.brandlicensing.eu – to find out more and to register to attend.
