Iconix Europe secures deal with skate brand Zoo York and streetwear retailer SNIPES

German-based fashion group and textile producer TB International has signed a long-term licence with Iconix Europe to launch skate brand Zoo York via a DTR partnership with European streetwear retailer, SNIPES.

Supported by release into SNIPES’ pan-European wholesale network, the aim is to make Zoo York a leading player in the European streetwear market.

The collection launches this month for spring/summer 2024, alongside a creative campaign which features an array of versatile bottoms including cargo pants, distressed denim and relaxed-fit shorts. The colour palette includes bold hues such as neon green, electric blue and fiery red, mixed in with classic neutrals black, white and grey.

Each piece in the collection is designed with both style and functionality in mind, ensuring that you can skate or hit the streets in comfort, while still upholding the Zoo York heritage.

With over 30 years of history, the Zoo York brand offers a wealth of cultural significance, being the first New York skate brand and team in a predominantly West Coast-led industry – the brand archive is peppered with iconic moments of New York underground culture spanning not just skate, but music, fashion and art, embodying the gritty energy of New York whilst consistently representing the underdog.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with both TB International and SNIPES to launch the iconic Zoo York brand across Europe at both retail and wholesale levels and are excited to see such perfectly true-to-brand range execution featuring original remastered nostalgia graphics, as well as fresh new styling across all pieces,” commented Daisy Laramy-Binks, md at Iconix Europe.

Simon Bus, head of communications and entertainment at SNIPES, continued: “We reinterpreted iconic apparel pieces and sneaker silhouettes to inspire the long existing Zoo York community, as well as to win new generations for the brand. By infusing Zoo York’s authenticity from the streets of New York City with SNIPES’ deep roots in global street culture, we aim to create an unparalleled experience for our community, one that celebrates individuality, creativity and the vibrant pulse of urban culture.”
