H&M expands Pokémon fashion partnership

Retailer grows existing line across apparel, accessories and footwear.

Fashion retailer H&M is expanding its successful collaboration with the Pokémon brand.

Following on from a spring/summer product launch earlier this year, the retailer has agreed a global deal with The Pokémon Company International to expand the line across apparel, accessories and footwear.

The growing softlines partnership will see expansion in autumn/winter 2018 as well as in 2019, when the first live-action Pokémon film, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, will premiere in cinemas.

“We were extremely pleased with the response to our first products for H&M and are delighted to continue and expand our collaboration with this prestigious retailer,” said Mathieu Galante, licensing director for Europe for The Pokémon Company International.

“With the forthcoming film and the current popularity of Pokémon apparel worldwide, the outlook for 2019 is tremendously exciting, and we are looking forward to building our partnership.”

The initial Pokémon product offering in H&M included a cap and two exclusive t-shirts.
