Interior fabrics line from GP & J Baker wins two awards from Homes & Gardens magazine.
Historic Royal Palaces has been enjoying success with its growing licensing programme, with its new interior fabrics line from GP & J Baker and its seventh collection with Hobbs both garnering favour.
The luxurious collection of furnishing fabrics – inspired by the palaces – from GP & J Baker has won two prestigious consumer awards from Homes & Gardens magazine.
It picked up Best Fabric Collection and the Queen’s Sampler won the Best Embroidered Fabric design award.
The GP & J Baker collection has been inspired from a range of areas including the embroidery of an 18th century courtier’s coat sourced from the Royal Ceremonial Dress collection, architectural plans and maps of all the palaces and the ceiling of the King’s bedchamber at Hampton Court Palace.
It includes velvets, wovens, damasks, embroidery and silks.
Meanwhile, Hobbs’ latest collection features an equestrian inspired print from The Palace Collection.
It was inspired by Queen Victoria – who was a keen rider – and Kensington Palace, with the range including a cape and dress with printed horse silhouettes and equestrian-style accessories.
In addition, the collection has also produced a wool check suit based on Queen Victoria’s Royal Stewart tartan scarf and a floral jacquard dress and scarf inspired by Kensington Palace gardens.
