UK productions put in strong showing at International Emmy Kids Awards.
It was a good night for UK productions at the International Emmy Kids Awards – taking home four of the seven accolades.
The ceremony took place at MIPTV in Cannes on April 4, with over 250 international industry executives attending the event at the Martinez Hotel.
Having scooped a coveted BAFTA last year, Hey Duggee continued its winning streak, winning the Preschool category.
Aardman’s Shaun the Sheep: The Farmer’s Llamas was victorious in the Animation category, while Horrible Histories picked up the Factual prize.
Completing the UK winners was Peter & Wendy, based on the novel Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie, which won the TV Movie/Mini Series category.
“Nothing is more vital on television than the programming kids watch every day, and the Academy is proud that the Emmy is the pre-eminent awards platform for kids programming,” said International Academy president, Bruce L. Paisner.
“We congratulate all the winners for their outstanding achievements and for setting the high-quality standard we all expect for our kids.”
