Hey Duggee, CBeebies, Sixteen South, LEGO Dimensions, Zootropolis among winners.
The winners of the 2016 BAFTA Children’s Awards have been revealed, with it being a particularly good night for Cartoon Network, CBeebies and Sixteen South.
CBeebies was named Channel of the Year at the glittering ceremony, which took place on Sunday November 20 at The Roundhouse, London and was hosted by Doc Brown.
In addition, Hey Duggee beat strong competition from Clangers, Go Jetters and Sarah & Duck to win the Preschool Animation category.
It was also a good night for Cartoon Network – the channel saw The Amazing World of Gumball scoop the Animation and Writer categories, while We Bare Bears won the International category.
Sixteen South, creators of preschool show Lily’s Driftwood Bay, was awarded Independent Production Company of the Year, while Zootropolis secured the Feature Film category and LEGO Dimensions picked up the Game award.
Zootropolis also prevailed in the film category of the BAFTA Kids Vote, while The Next Step won the TV award and Minecraft picked up the Games accolade.
