Hey Duggee builds with new soft lines and toy deals

BBC Worldwide further bolsters preschool property with raft of new signings.

BBC Worldwide has been busy adding licensees to the fast growing Hey Duggee programme, welcoming a host of new soft lines partners, as well as a new toy deal for Italy.

The new UK soft lines partnerships include VMC for accessories such as hats, gloves and scarves, as well as dress-up items, while Trade Mark Collections will launch backpacks and umbrellas.

Roy Lowe & Sons is on board for Hey Duggee socks and William Lamb has signed for footwear including slippers and wellington boots.

Existing soft lines partners include Aykroyd and TDP for nightwear, underwear and swimwear, Blues Clothing for daywear and Blue Sky Designs for art, stationery and activity products.

Anita Majhu, licensing manager softlines at BBC Worldwide, said: “Working with best in class partners, we have been able to create an exciting and innovative range for Hey Duggee that is fun and engaging, and does well at retail.

“We are thrilled to add new expert partners to our Hey Duggee portfolio, who will deliver a raft of further exciting product for Hey Duggee fans to enjoy.”

Meanwhile, BBC Worldwide has secured through CPLG a multi-year licensing deal for Hey Duggee in Italy with Chicco.

The deal will enable Chicco to manufacture and distribute Hey Duggee product to its 150 plus stores in Italy and distribute to other retail stores in the country.

Hey Duggee product is set to launch in Chicco stores this autumn and will include plush and new talking plush toys featuring dubbed Italian voices from the localised version of the TV series, figurines and play-sets, as well as Golden Bear’s toy range.
