Hello Kitty reveals three-part collaboration with Cambridge Satchel

British brand, Cambridge Satchel has confirmed a three-part collaboration with Sanrio and its Hello Kitty property.

The exclusive collaboration will coincide with Cambridge Satchel’s 15th birthday and Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

The collection of leather bags and accessories includes card holders and charms and will launch with ‘Introducing Hello Kitty’, followed by ‘High Tea’ and ‘Rainbow’ collections in early 2024.

The collaboration gives a nod to Hello Kitty’s bold and playful personality, with prints inspired by the character shown across a range of Cambridge Satchel’s hero bags, including The Poppy, The Portrait Backpack, The 13” Batchel and The Mini, which will launch in eye-catching colourways red, apple green and yellow.

The collection will also include several new designs such as fruit-themed key charms, an embroidered cotton tote bag and unique leather bags in the shape of Hello Kitty’s iconic face.

“Collaborating with Sanrio is like a joyful meeting of two timeless icons, where creativity knows no limit and fun is the universal language of connection,” commented Carine de Koenigswarter, ceo at Cambridge Satchel. “Just as Hello Kitty brings back cherished memories, our Cambridge Satchel bags are meant to be loved for a lifetime.”

Silvia Figini, coo at Sanrio EMEA, India and Oceania, Mr. Men, Worldwide, continued: “We are very excited to team up with the Cambridge Satchel on this new project. Hello Kitty is a true pop icon, loved by generations of kids and adults and inspiration for artists and designers. This is why the combination of the global appeal of Hello Kitty and the great experience of Cambridge Satchel in creating high quality accessories will generate the perfect formula to deliver a wonderful line to our fans.”

Over the next year there will be numerous celebrations and consumer activations with a Hello Kitty appearance. Cambridge Satchel will also be popping up in various places in the US, Japan and China during the year-long collaboration.
