HEAD Sport makes move into eyewear

Wagner + Kühner GmbH signs up to create new collection for launch in 2018.

HEAD Sport is continuing to expand its licensing programme, signing up German eyewear specialist Wagner + Kühner GmbH.

From January 2018, the company will launch a collection of HEAD Sport glasses, optical frames and sunglasses worldwide.

The range will include 22 models across two categories, Fun and Sports.

The Fun series consists of sporty fashion sunglasses with polarized glasses, of which some are mirrored. They are made of high-quality synthetic material and stainless steel, with the designs of the four models based on HEAD snowboards.

Meanwhile, the Sports collection has been inspired by market trends, while the colours also take a nod from the current HEAD winter sports and snowboarding clothing.

All models are branded on the outside of the brackets with the HEAD lettering or icon.

“Our companies have the same philosophy regarding innovation and product quality. I am looking forward to a long-term and successful partnership,” said Giuseppe Faranna, vp division manager licensing.

Klaus Kühner, owner and md of Wagner + Kühner GmbH, added: “With the distribution of sports glasses by a world-renowned brand, we are adding another high-quality component to our portfolio.

“Now we can offer even more diversity to our customers, the medium-sized opticians. We are extremely pleased to have found a partner with HEAD in every respect.”
