HEAD brand on track with new watch concept

HEAD has secured a multi-year licensing agreement with Elysee Group, Germany for a new line of sports watches.

The new range includes a variety of different watch series – including chronographs, three-hand watches, smartwatches and wearables – with their own characters, all of which are named after venues of various Olympic Games.

One of the highlights of the collection are the smartwatches: Los Angeles, Moscow and Seoul. In conjunction with the specially developed HEAD Watches app, the features of the smartwatch can be coupled with smartphones to track various sports.

“Although the smart phone generations are more and more refusing to wear watches, we believe that a watch is foremost a precious accessory for everybody and that to measure the time is something still needed,” commented Giuseppe Faranna, vp and division manager licensing at HEAD Sports GmbH. “Not only for athletes, but up to just a fan of the brand, and therefore we are happy that we found with Elysee a partner who shares those values with us. We are looking forward to see those great watches on retail around the world.”

Julian Seume, md of Elysee Group, added: “We are excited [and] honoured to add HEAD into our brand portfolio. We are confident Elysee’s long standing watchmaking expertise will highlight the iconic HEAD brand sporty DNA bringing innovative and appealing state of the art watches into this fast growing watch segment.”

The watches are available in key Asian markets including Japan, Korea and China, as well as several European territories such as Germany, Austria, Italy, Croatia and Serbia.
