Harry Potter Studio Tour heading to Tokyo

Following in the footsteps of the original UK tour in Leavesden, the new tour will open in 2023.

With The Making of Harry Potter in the UK having re-opened its doors on August 20, it has also been confirmed that a version of the experience will be opening in Tokyo in 2023.

The Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo will feature film sets, costumes and props from the movie franchise based on J K Rowling’s books.

Fans will also be able to step into lifesize re-creations of some of the film’s famous locations such as Hogwarts, Privet Drive, Diagon Alley and Gringotts Wizarding Bank.

The park will be based at a 30,000 square metre site in Nermira (about 30 minutes train ride outside of central Tokyo), which is famed as the birthplace of Japanese animation production, reported Sky News.

The original UK tour – which is based in Leavesden, Hertfordshire – has played host to more than 14 million visitors since it opened in 2012.
