Luxury retailer welcomes new lines as hype for The Cursed Child boosts brand.
Luxury London-based department store Harrods has been riding the wave of hype around Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, with the brand receiving a boost in-store.
Consumers, collectors and tourists visiting the Knightsbridge-based store can pick up a variety of merchandise, including a selection of high-end limited edition lines.
And Emma Coleman, assistant toy buyer at Harrods, told The Source at the recent Licensing Awards judging day that Harry Potter had been enjoying a surge in sales.
“There’s been a massive upswing in Harry Potter,” she said. “There’s definitely a thirst for it and we try to make it a bit of an experience in-store.”
New product additions on the retailer’s website include a House Crest Bookmark Set and a Gryffindor Scarf.
In addition, Harrods is currently offering two for £22 on selected Funko Pop figures.
Limited edition lines include a number of prints such as a Quidditch World Cup poster, House Crest prints and front pages from the Daily Prophet among others.
