Licensee uses Spring Fair for a major relaunch to the gift trade.
Half Moon Bay unveiled a much broader portfolio of product ranges at this week’s Spring Fair, as it looked to relaunch itself to the gift trade.
As well as ranges featuring classic styles for the latest blockbuster entertainment franchises, the company also exhibited for the first time lifestyle homeware products under its recently acquired brand, Shruti.
On top of this, there were new publishing gift formats under its newly created Ice House Books imprint.
Ice House Books will significantly boost Half Moon Bay’s licensing credentials, giving it another string to its bow.
A number of licences are lined up for launch in spring/summer including Moomin Comfort Food and Lady Penelope’s Boss Lady Handbook.
The mini hardback range will be rolled out to the book and gifting industry, aimed specifically at independent gift shops which are looking for quirky and fun material that reflects popular culture and features some of the characters from Half Moon Bay’s product ranges.
In addition, the Bath-based licensee has hired Highlight PR to manage its consumer PR in 2019, helping to push the company’s full portfolio further into the spotlight.
“2019 is an exciting and busy year for Half Moon Bay; the recent acquisition of Shruti and launch of publishing imprint Ice House Books makes our partnership with Highlight even more crucial,” said Peter Thompson, md of Half Moon Bay. “Our goal is to drive consumer awareness for our ranges and products and we feel with Highlight’s experience they are best placed to achieve this.”
Alison Vellacott, director of Highlight PR, added: “This is an important time in Half Moon Bay’s evolution, and we can’t wait to start promoting all their new ranges of topical and attractive gifts to national consumer media.”
