Orchard Books imprint to launch two new titles after success of initial three books.
Orchard Books, an imprint of Hachette Children’s Group, is to launch two more Pokémon titles in 2017.
The new brace follow on from the strong sell-in success of the first three licensed books.
Earlier this year the Hachette Children’s Group announced it would be fast-tracking three official Pokémon titles for November 2016 after signing a publishing deal with The Pokémon Company International: Pokémon Creative Colouring, The Pokémon Encyclopedia and The Pokémon Sticker Book.
The Pokémon Encyclopedia achieved sales of 5,413 copies in the first week alone and ongoing sales average over 1,000 copies per day. Hachette Children’s Group also reported sales to date of over 6,000 copies in export.
Katie Price, licensing director at Hachette Children’s Group, commented: “We are thrilled with the initial sales of the first three titles. With a new Pokémon video game out this November, the momentum behind Pokémon continues and we believe there is huge demand for a broader range of publishing under this licence.”
Orchard Books will publish Pokémon: Legendary 1001 Stickers on February 9, 2017 and Pokémon: Sticker Activity Book on March 9, 2017.
