Gucci reveals Mickey Mouse collaboration

New capsule collection launched in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year.

Luxury fashion brand Gucci has created a new capsule collection starring Disney’s Mickey Mouse in celebration of the upcoming Chinese New Year, which is the Year of the Rat.

The new line – which was reported by WWD and Fashion United – includes clothes for men and women, plus small leather goods, footwear and jewellery among other items.

The Italian label’s Florentine motifs have been incorporated with images of the character, which has previously appeared in Gucci’s spring 2019 and Resort 2020 shows.

According to Fashion United, Gucci’s Chinese New Year collection features a new Mini GG Supreme canvas with a Mickey Mouse print, which references a vintage signature pattern of the label from the 1980s.

Prices begin at $210 with the collaboration also due to be available at Gucci’s series of pop-up stores, Gucci Pins.
