Company adds new licences to its digital app collection; celebrates 60 years working with the NFL.
Topps is continuing to grow the digital sector of its business – growing its app collection from one app in 2012 to five in 2016.
The most recent licensed launch is The Walking Dead: Card Trader, which features new digital card releases on a daily basis, covering the history of the brand.
The app, for the first time ever, offers fans of Fear The Walking Dead the opportunity to collect and trade cards of new characters.
In addition to this, Topps is also celebrating a 60-year relationship with the National Football League – the company has confirmed long-term agreements with the NFL and the National Football Players Association to publish digital trading cards in the Topps NFL Huddle app.
The deals mean that Topps can deliver some of its most popular brands – such as Topps Chrome and Topps Inception – to NFL fans in digital form.
Topps MLB BUNT 2016 has also introduced new trading and progression features to the real-time, real-world Major League Baseball digital trading card game.
“The growth of our digital app line-up has been an exciting evolution of what collecting means at Topps,” commented Jeremy Strauser, vice president and general manager of digital at Topps.
“We’re very excited about these latest developments across our digital apps and hope Topps fans will enjoy hours of entertainment with these five great apps.”
