Glasgow Rangers unveils kit initiative with ZEROH20

New eco-friendly kit for 2019/2020 season has been developed by hummel UK.

Glasgow Rangers FC will be wearing a new eco-friendly kit for the 2019/2020 season which combats water scarcity.

Developed by Danish sportswear brand hummel UK, the ZEROH20 kit will aim to reduce water consumption in the sports industry.

ZEROH2O is a new waterless dye concept being pioneered by hummel UK, which supplies the technical kit for Glasgow Rangers.

With zero water consumption and zero waste-water discharges, the revolutionary technology sets a new standard for eco-efficiency, reducing energy consumption by 50%, and is geared to revolutionise the global replica football kit market.

The new technology has eliminated water usage and excludes chemical additives from the dyeing process.

The relationship will see players, staff and supporters wearing the ZEROH20 kit.

“It’s very exciting news to be able to launch the ZEROH2O kits with Glasgow Rangers FC,” said Neil Burke, commercial director at hummel UK. “It takes 25 litres of water to dye just one single shirt and this is not sustainable.

“We are rolling out ZEROH2O across all hummel UK football clubs for the 2019/2020 season, which includes Cambridge United, Charlton Athletic, Coventry City, Fleetwood Town, Middlesbrough and Oldham Athletic.

“This will ensure awareness of the campaign across all UK football leagues and make an immediate environmental impact on the industry.”

Neil continued: “Our partnerships with these clubs will allow players, staff and fans to not only wear their teams colours with pride, but also with social consciousness. With a global audience of four billion people worldwide, football can be a powerful force for change throughout the world.”
