Gibson guitar brand opens doors of London flagship store

Global instrument brand, Gibson has opened the doors of a new flagship store in London.

The opening of Gibson Garage London was celebrated by Gibson artists including Jimmy Page (who has entered into a collaborative partnership with Gibson), Tony Iommi, Sir Brian May, James Bay and Miles Kane among others, before it officially opened to the public on Saturday 24 February.

Located near London’s Oxford Street, it marks the first ever Gibson Garage Experience store overseas.

Pitched as the ‘ultimate guitar experience’, Gibson Garage London follows on from the successful opening of Gibson Garage Nashville and gives visitors the chance to plug in and play more than 300 electric and acoustic guitars across Gibson, Gibson Custom, Gibson Acoustic, Epiphone and Kramer, plus explore the entire collection of Maestro pedals and more across 4,000 square feet of retail space.

Music lovers can design their own made to measure guitar inside the Gibson Custom Shop Murphy Lab, while there is also a dedicated acoustic room with one of the largest displays of Gibson acoustic guitars in the UK, as well as areas for Epiphone electric, acoustic and bass guitars, and the biggest display of Kramer guitars in the UK.

In addition, there is a display of exclusive Gibson apparel, gifts and lifestyle items, as well as gear and accessories.

On top of this, music fans will be able to experience weekly live performances, artist showcases and signings, plus panel discussions from musicians and artists from the stage located on the lower level of the Garage. Meanwhile, the Gibson Gallery, a bi-annual revolving gallery wall, will celebrate the photography and art of British artists and musicians. The inaugural exhibition at the Gibson Gallery will debut with an exclusive collection from legendary music photographer, Gered Mankowitz.
