General Mills reveals Batman v Superman cereals

Products hit US retail shelves this week as promotion machine steps up a gear.

The rivalry between Batman and Superman has even reached breakfast bowls in the US – with General Mills securing a deal with Warner Bros. to launch two new cereals this week.

Fans of the DC Comics characters can choose between Superman Caramel Crunch and Batman Chocolate Strawberry.

The crunchy pieces are shaped like Superman’s shield, while the chocolate strawberry pieces are modelled on Batman’s emblem.

“Superman and Batman continue to appeal to the generations of fans that have enjoyed them for decades, as well as new superhero fans experiencing them for the first time,” said Alan Cunningham, senior marketing manager at General Mills.

“We spent extensive time and effort to develop the flavours and look of these cereals, and their packaging, so that they will match the incredible quality of the characters they feature.”

The eagerly anticipated movie hits cinemas in the UK and US on March 25.
