Gamestop unveils new TOTAKU collectable line

New video game character range to debut at UK Toy Fair this week.

Specialist video games retailer Gamestop has unveiled its new collectable figurine range featuring a host of popular video game characters.

TOTAKU will officially make its debut at UK Toy Fair this week and includes characters from major video game franchises and titles. The first wave will include Little Big Planet, Tekken, Wipeout, Crash Bandicoot, Parappa the Rapper and Bloodborne, with the collectables hitting stores from March.

Further waves will feature characters from God of War, Sonic the Hedgehog and Horizon Zero Dawn among others.

Alex Jones, director of licensed products international at Gamestop, explained to The Source the reasons behind the launch: “We really wanted to bring something out that spoke to our customers who have been looking for figurines of their favourite gaming heroes at an affordable price point (£12.99/€14.99).

“We’re at the Toy Fair to ensure the brand gets visibility to other retailers who want to join us and you can come and meet our giant Sackboy and the rest of the collection at on the gallery level, stand 202.

“Look out for more announcements and the launch of www.mytotaku.com, which will go live this week and is the home of the TOTAKU collection.”

GameStop will be exhibiting as Think Geek on stand Gallery 202 at Toy Fair – which runs at London’s Olympia from January 23-25.
