Company creates mosaic from 8,600 Pop Vinyl figures over the course of 16 hours.
Pop culture purveyor Funko has broken the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest mosaic creation.
Using 8,600 Pop! Vinyl figures to create the largest packaged product mosaic in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates – in honour of Modesh, Dubai’s well-loved mascot – and all within 16 hours – the record was officially bestowed on Sunday August 16, following four days of build-up. The final creation measures an impressive 157.7 m².
“This is another proud moment for the UAE to add a new title to its wide collection of world records,” said Danny Hickson, official adjudicator from Guinness World Records. “Thousands of Pop! Vinyl products were used to celebrate Funko collectors around the world and what better way than with a Guinness World Records title.”
Motasem Ahmed, co-founder of Monkey Distribution, Funko’s distributor in the Middle East, continued: “What a way to end the summer than by breaking a world record. We hope everyone loves Modesh’s mosaic as much as we loved creating it.”
