LicensingSource.net is pleased to report even more good news from The Light Fund Channel Relay Swim challenge.
After the showing of the remarkable short film and a rapturous reception for the swim squad at The Licensing Awards last month (13 September), yet more kind people have been persuaded to part with cash in support of the industry charity and the RNLI.
As of today, new donations and pledges take the total to £285,000, smashing through the extraordinary total of £268,000 announced on the night.
The whole swim squad, The Light Fund and RNLI have been humbled by the ongoing generosity of the industry, sending thanks ‘from the bottom of our hearts… and thankfully not from the bottom of the Channel…’
Celebrating the success of the swim with ‘completion tees’, two members of the squad – Mark ‘Sir G’ Kingston and Simon ‘Beaver’ Gresswell – managed to grab a quick photo call with Tom Weldon, ceo of Penguin Random House UK and one of the completion tees sponsors, during Brand Licensing Europe (pictured).
Thanks also go to Bioworld (for printing the tees at least once) and to Penguin Ventures and all completion tees sponsors (all visible on the front and back of the t-shirts). The additional sponsorship further built on both incredible doubled donations from Informa and EWL, plus the ‘last push’ extra donations before the Awards night, from Smiffys and resulting from the Top Gun Jackets Auction, instigated by Wow Stuff’s Richard North.
