Forbidden Planet teams with Kojima Productions

Retailer to launch wave of apparel, giftware and collectables inspired by video games studio.

Forbidden Planet is partnering with renowned video games studio Kojima Productions to launch a wave of apparel, giftware and collectables.

Kojima Productions was founded by the award-winning video game luminary Hideo Kojima, creator of the critically and commercially acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series, as well as the hugely anticipated upcoming game Death Stranding.

The pop culture chain will launch products from Q4, with pre-orders on tees, gifts and collectables available now.

Omar Khan, Forbidden Planet’s licensing and special projects manager, said: “It is a privilege to welcome merchandise from video game visionary Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions into our stores.

“I can’t wait for fans to see the cool products we’ll have in stock – and we look forward to a long relationship as Kojima Productions’ official UK high street retail partner. We welcome the Homo Ludens – those who play.”

Hideo Kojima, Kojima Productions’ game creator, added: “I am extremely happy to team up with established and respected pop culture retailer Forbidden Planet to bring official Kojima Productions merchandise to fans throughout the UK. We hope to deliver a line-up fans will surely love.”
