First International Thunderbirds Day dated

Event on September 30 will mark date that property first appeared in homes across the UK.

ITV Studios Global Entertainment has revealed that the first annual International Thunderbirds Day will take place on September 30, 2017.

The event will mark the date that Gerry Anderson’s creation first appeared in homes across the UK – September 30, 1965.

Vue Entertainment will be helping fans across the UK celebrate with a programme of exclusive Thunderbirds Day screenings.

The event will take place in 52 venues nationwide – in honour of the 52 years of Thunderbirds.

It will include a never-before nationally screened episode of Thunderbirds (The Abominable Snowman, from the Thunderbirds 1965 project) in the style of the classic series, filmed in Supermarionation and using audio recordings starring the original cast.

This will be followed by two brand new episodes of Season 2, Part 2 of Thunderbirds Are Go, which is coming to CITV this autumn.

Further activities to mark Thunderbirds Day are due to be announced shortly.
