Final Rise of Skywalker trailer sets internet alight

‘The saga will end, the story lives forever’ says hotly tipped movie’s tagline.

The final trailer for the eagerly anticipated Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was released yesterday – with the internet and social media immediately lighting up with excitement.

At time of writing, the trailer had been viewed over five million times on the official Star Wars YouTube channel, while both ‘Star Wars’ and ‘#RiseofSkywalker’ were trending on Twitter.

The movie – which has the tagline ‘the saga will end, the story lives forever’ – will hit UK cinemas on December 20.

Disney has already kicked off its licensing programme, with Triple Force Friday taking place on October 4 and consumer products rolling out across a variety of categories up until the movie’s launch.
