FCP’s Bob’s Burgers gets retail backing

HMV, Amazon, Primark and Forbidden Planet all getting behind new animated comedy series.

20th Century Fox Consumer Products is beginning the UK roll out of consumer products for new animated comedy series, Bob’s Burgers – with several big name retailers backing the property.

Trademark Product’s range of adult t-shirts is now available in HMV, Amazon, Primark and Pennies.

In addition, HMV and Forbidden Planet will be stocking GB eye’s Bob’s Burgers inspired gift line, including posters and mugs, later this year.

The UK roll out follows on from success in the US, where the show is currently in its seventh series.

Fashion retailer Hot Topic has just completed a nationwide promotion across 650 stores, while key licensing partners include Kid Robot/NECA, Funko and Rizzoli Publishing.

Rizzoli’s The Bob’s Burger Burger Book is officially a New York Times bestseller and ranks at number three across all Amazon books sold. Autumn will also see Rizzoli release The Official Bob’s Burgers Coloring Book.

The property was also a hit at Comic-Con, with US apparel partner Toddland’s dedicated Bob’s Burger booth attracting a huge amount of attention and selling out of almost everything on the first day.

Sandra Vauthier-Cellier, svp at Fox Consumer Products EMEA, said: “We’re thrilled to announce that Bob’s Burgers is officially open for business. There is a real appetite for this razor sharp comedy and is a great example of the tongue in cheek, animated shows which Twentieth Century Fox Television is known for.

“The brand plays to our proven strengths of developing brands and licensing programmes for the discerning millennial audience, Bob’s Burger’s has all the potential to be one of the hottest openings of Brand Licensing Europe 2016.”

Bob’s Burgers airs daily on Comedy Central UK and follows third-generation restaurateur Bob Belcher, who runs Bob’s Burgers with the help of his wife, Linda and their three kids, Gene, Tina and Louise.
