Overall sales for the series have now topped 1,000,000.
Overall sales for the Famous Five parody book series have now topped one million – with Five Forget Mother’s Day being the latest title to reach the number one spot.
Five on Brexit Island, Five Go on a Strategy Away Day and Five Give Up the Booze have all made it into the top ten.
The success of the tongue in cheek parodies of Enid Blyton’s most famous books bodes well for the licensing programme, which is being handled by Bulldog Licensing and coincides with the 75th anniversary of the first book.
Danilo is already on board, while Bulldog is also eyeing up stationery, gift and food products.
It will then look to expand across the Secret Seven and other titles in the estate.
“These books have struck a huge chord,” commented Vicky Hill, licensing director at Bulldog. “Everyone grew up with Enid Blyton’s work, so there is huge nostalgic appeal in anything connected to these timeless stories.”
