Facebook opens pop-ups in Macy’s stores

Mix of around 100 small businesses to be introduced at nine stores in the US.

Social media giant Facebook is opening a number of pop-up shops in Macy’s stores across the US.

The aim is to give small businesses their first perches in a nationwide chain. The initiative will see around 100 businesses at nine Macy’s stores across the US this month and through December.

They will appear in ‘The Market’ area of the Macy’s stores, which is a space dedicated to new or growing brands.

A statement from Facebook said: “Every day, million of people discover brands and products they love on Facebook and Instagram. This holiday season, we’re excited to bring the magic of this discovery into Macy’s retail stores.”

Brands featured will cover several categories including apparel, beauty, lifestyle and food.
