Preschool show to air on three video on demand platforms from spring in the territory.
PJ Masks is due to make its debut in China on three video on demand platforms from this spring, after eOne secured a number of new content deals.
PJ Masks first launched on air internationally from March 2016 on the Disney Junior global network and is currently broadcast in over 85 territories worldwide.
Now eOne is gearing up to introduce the show to the Chinese market as the 52 x 11min episodes from series one will soon be available on leading VOD services Tencent, iQiYi and Youku.
On the back of these deals, eOne is now assembling a dedicated PJ Masks consumer products programme for China that will significantly expand the global reach of the preschool property which already boasts 600 licensees in multiple territories around the world.
Monica Candiani, evp content sales at Entertainment One Family, commented: “PJ Masks is generating an extraordinary level of buzz around the world and proving to be a hot property, both for content and merchandise.
“We’re therefore delighted to be partnering with these leading VOD platforms to bring this fantastic show to audiences in China for the first time.”
eOne recently announced a number of new free to air broadcast partners – in Brazil, Croatia and Denmark.
The first episodes from PJ Masks season two have recently premiered in the US and eOne is now gearing up to roll out the new season to the rest of the world from February and early March.
eOne has also confirmed that a third series is currently in production.
