Emma Shipley reveals Star Wars scarves collection

Graphic artist creates unisex line inspired by original film saga.

Graphic artist Emma J Shipley has collaborated with Disney UK on a new six-piece unisex scarves collection, inspired by the Star Wars saga.

The range includes lightweight cotton and modal blend scarves, along with wool square shapes and a long style that can be wrapped around for chillier days.

It also includes silk pocket squares and ties for men, as well as limited edition fine prints from the original artwork.

Emma’s hand drawings have resulted in colours inspired by the original Star Wars saga films, with flashes of colour taken from space explosions along with the colour themes from Star Wars film posters from the late 70s and early 80s.

The scarves feature hand drawn images portraying Darth Vader in silhouette morphing into the Death Star, filled with Stormtroopers and vehicles from the classic films (such as TIE Fighters, the Millennium Falcon and X-wings).

The imagery surrounding is a montage of planets and explosions taken from the original film stills.

The collection is available at Selfridges and Fenwick London, as well as Le Bon Marché, Ikram – US and online at emmajshipley.com.
