Searches peaked at one every 30 seconds during January for classic toy brand.
eBay.co.uk has revealed that interest in classic toy brand LEGO is as strong as ever, with more than 20,000 searches on the site during one week in January alone – one search every 30 seconds.
The online marketplace has found that when it comes to the toy box, LEGO is set to remain a firm favourite this year with more than 1,160,000 searches for LEGO in 2018 so far.
2018 marks the 60th anniversary of the brick, and eBay has almost 500,000 current listings on the site for LEGO.
LEGO was the UK’s third most sought after item of last year on the site – just behind iPhones and Fidget Spinners – with more than 4.4 million total searches on the site and a big spike in November, with five searches every second.
Licensed versions are also proving popular. One LEGO Star Wars item has been sold every minute since the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Similarly, the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story inspired fans to build their favourite LEGO starship, with searches for ‘LEGO Star Wars’ peaking on December 18, three days after release.
