eBay names the hottest Halloween themes

Harley Quinn, Spider-Man, Batman, Deadpool among top searched Halloween costumes.

The latest data from online global marketplace eBay.com has revealed the hottest costumes and themes which are already trending for Halloween.

While evergreen favourites such as comic book legends and horror classics remain at the top of browsers’ shopping lists, the latest characters and trends in pop culture are proving just as popular, reports sister site PartyWorldwide.net.

While Halloween in the UK is more of a ‘scary’ event, in America, trick-or-treaters are equally likely to choose regular fancy dress costumes. As such, the comic book characters favoured by eBay.com shoppers last year still continue to top the search lists.

Batman, Wonder Woman and Deadpool remain solidly in the top ten, while Spider-Man has regained popularity, thanks to the latest movie which was released this summer.

The data team at eBay UK have also been doing some number crunching as part of the annual UK Retail Report, revealing that Suicide Squad character Harley Quinn is likely to be one of the UK’s most popular costumes for Halloween 2017.

Harley Quinn was the marketplace’s top Halloween outfit last year and, with 4,032,868 searches for her on eBay.co.uk in the last year, she is expected to take one of the top spots for 2017 as well.

“Brits have begun preparing for Halloween in a big way, with 170 Halloween products and costumes sold per hour in the past week, a near threefold rise on the week before,” said an eBay spokesperson. “Harley was the marketplace’s number 1 Halloween outfit last year – and this year looks to be no different.”

Harley Quinn costumes also trended on eBay in the UK on October 4 2017, while current UK search trends also include Wonder Woman (17,000 searches).

Here is a full list of the most in-demand costumes for adults, children and pets, all based on the latest 2017 data from eBay.com:
