The Harrogate Tipple picks up accolades at the International Wine and Spirits Competition.
Harrogate Tipple’s Downton Abbey gins have picked up a brace of awards at the International Wine and Spirits Competition.
The world’s premiere contest to find the best wines and spirits has been running for 50 years, with the 2020 Spirits Awards announced earlier this month.
Harrogate Tipple won a total of five certificates including Silver for its Premium Downton Abbey Gin (scoring 91 out of 100) and Bronze for its Rhubarb Downton Abbey Gin (scoring 88 out of 100).
“With such rigorous tasting, we’re delighted that our two premium Downton Abbey gins received scores of 88 and 91 out of 100,” enthused Steven Green, chief tipple taster at Harrogate Tipple.
Kelvyn Gardner, md of Asgard Media which brokered the Downton Abbey licence with Universal Studios, added: “Winning these prestigious Silver and Bronze Awards underscores Harrogate Tipple’s commitment to quality.
“Steven and his team created this gin from scratch after much research going back to the 1920’s era for style, taste, botanical content and even the shape of the bottle. Licensors can be sure that Harrogate Tipple will always deliver premium spirits carefully crafted. We’d like to thank Universal Studios for their confidence in granting the Downton Abbey rights.”
