DK to welcome new licensing publishing director

Mark Searle to join publisher from The Quarto Group on November 4.

DK has appointed a new publishing director for its licensing division in the shape of Mark Searle.

Mark (pictured) will join the company on November 4 and will report directly to Rebecca Smart, DK md publishing.

Mark joins DK from his role as publisher at Bright Press, The Quarto Group, where he has over nine years of experience. Prior to this, he also held roles at Elliott & Thompson and Pan Macmillan.

“Mark brings a strong combination of creativity, entrepreneurship and leadership skills and we are really excited for him to join DK,” said Rebecca. “He will be key to driving growth and success in the licensing division and will work closely with our licensors.”

Mark added: “I am tremendously excited to take up this new opportunity with DK. Anyone who works in illustrated publishing is well aware of DK’s quality books and global reach. I’ll be sad to leave such great people at Quarto after nearly nine years, but I’m really looking forward to this new challenge in an area of the business with huge potential.”

Mark replaces Simon Beecroft who left DK back in May.
