Luxury fashion brand The Blonds has used characters as inspiration for spring 2019 collection.
The Disney Villains are set to takeover New York Fashion Week in September, with luxury fashion brand The Blonds debuting it spring 2019 collection inspired by the characters.
Known for its glamorous and fierce designs, The Blonds – designer Phillipe Blond and creative director David Blond – has dressed big names such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Lady Gaga.
For the Disney Villains show – which will be live streamed on Disney.com on September 7 – The Blonds will create looks inspired by Cruella de Vil, Maleficent, Evil Queen, Queen of Hearts, Dr. Facilier, Ursula and Flotsam and Jetsam, reported Disney Style.
Phillipe and David spent time at the Disney Archive Research Library to view original artwork and sculptures to help immerse them into the Disney Villain world.
“What drew us to working with Disney Villains are the complex attributes of the characters themselves,” explained David. “Often misunderstood, Disney Villains are flawed, imposing and mysterious, and we loved the idea of taking these characteristics and translating them in a glamorous way, making them the heroes of our story.”
