Characters including Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh to be integrated into range of classic prints.
Timeless Disney characters including Winnie the Pooh and Mickey Mouse will be integrated into classic Cath Kidston prints, following a new creative partnership between the two companies.
The first Disney x Cath Kidston collaboration will feature Winnie the Pooh and his friends across two of Cath Kidston’s signature print designs and will be launched at the end of September to coincide with the character’s 90th-anniversary celebrations in October 2016.
A second Disney collection will feature Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse and will be launched in early December, in time for Christmas. Further collections are set to roll out on a seasonal basis, with characters yet to be announced.
“We’ve thoroughly enjoyed marrying the storytelling elements of classic Disney characters with our signature prints,” said Cath Kidston’s marketing director, Sue Chidler.
“The fusion of Disney’s Winnie the Pooh characters with our classic designs makes for an exciting, creative collection filled with personality that we believe our customers will love to collect.”
“It is extremely important for Disney to collaborate with partners that share the same vision for quality and passion, and we feel there is a natural synergy with Cath Kidston,” said VP of fashion and lifestyle at The Walt Disney Company, Francesca Gianesin.
“We can’t wait for fans of all ages to enjoy the Winnie the Pooh collection, as we celebrate the loveable characters of Hundred Acre Wood during their 90th anniversary year,” she continued.
“Cath Kidston’s playful and iconic prints provide the perfect backdrop for our classic Disney characters, and we’re looking forward to creating more new and exciting product together.”
The new prints will be available across all of Cath Kidston categories including accessories, homeware, kids, and fashion.
The limited edition items will be stocked in selected Cath Kidston stores in the UK, overseas and online at CathKidston.com.
