Disney UK honours licensees at annual awards

Sphero, Jakks, Primark and Egmont among winners at 2015 Disney Licensee Awards.

Disney UK & Ireland has revealed the winners of its annual Licensee Awards.

Over 150 licensees from across the industry attended the Beauty and the Beast themed drinks and canapés ceremony, which celebrated excellence in licensing for Disney.

The awards were presented in 11 different categories.

The full list of winners is as follows:

Best Infant and Preschool Licensee

Winner: IMC

Best Girl-led Licensee

Winner: Jakks

Best Boy-led Licensee

Winner: Bandai

Best Millennial Licensee

Winner: Primark

Best Publishing Licensee

Winner: Egmont

Most Innovative Product of the Year

Shopper Marketing Award

Winner: Asda

Business Planning Award

Winner: Tesco

The shortlist and winners for each category were decided by a panel of senior Disney UK executives, who based their decisions on various relevant criteria including buyer feedback, consumer spend, product innovation, integration of franchise and sharing of insights.

Mike Stagg, svp, gm integrated retail UK/Ireland & E-Commerce EMEA, said: “We were delighted to celebrate the compelling products, campaigns and astounding services our licensee partners have delivered for us over the last year at our special annual awards event.

“It has been an incredibly strong year across our Disney, Marvel, Disney Pixar and LucasFilm brands, and we have seen innovation and excellence across the board.”
