Disney Store kicks off Christmas campaign

Number of charities will also benefit from this year’s Our Family to Yours initiative.

The Disney Store has launched its Christmas campaign – teaming with a number of charities across the UK and Ireland as part of the ‘From Our Family to Yours’ initiative.

The campaign invites families to take a festive photo in the Disney Store, or dig out a classic from the family photo album, and share it through Instagram or Twitter using the hashtag #DisneyStoreFamily.

Each family that submits a photo will be entered into a competition to win a family trip to New York, including a private shopping spree at the Disney Store in Times Square.

For every family photo shared, a soft toy will be donated to a child through Disney Store’s chosen national charities, up to a total of 15,000 across the UK, Ireland and France.

This is the seventh year that Disney Store has run a Christmas campaign to support children’s charities, and to date has donated over 125,000 soft toys throughout Europe.

“This year our Christmas campaign, ‘From Our Family to Yours’, is extra special, as we’re asking families to share their most cherished memories with us, in aid of helping spread a little Disney magic to children across Ireland and the UK,” said Graham Burridge, md of Disney Store Europe.

“For the past six years we have been overwhelmed by the response from the public who support our annual charity campaign.

“We hope lots of people will come to the store to take their photos or share their favourite family photos online.”

A number of star-studded events have already taken place to officially launch the campaign, including in Dublin, London and Manchester.

Celebrities turning out have included Michelle Heaton, Lydia Bright, Stacey Solomon (pictured), Fiona Bruce, Tamara Ecclestone and Tamzin Outhwaite among others.

The campaign will also include a number of free activities that families can take part in over the festive period. This will include letter writing, as well as card making where children can create their own photo frame Christmas card and insert a family photo.
