Disney Store and shopDisney kick off the holiday season with in-store event

The festive season commenced with a sprinkle of magic earlier this week as Disney Store and shopDisney hosted an exclusive VIP event at The Disney Store on London’s Oxford Street.

Families and children of all ages were treated to an ‘enchanting’ experience as the festivities unfolded before the store’s official opening – with a host of celebrities and their families in attendance to kick off the holiday season in Disney’s signature style.

Famous Faces from the realms of television, fashion and music – including Alex Jones, Sam Faiers and Binky Felstead – embraced the festive spirit by sporting Mickey ears and celebrating with their families. They were joined by Steph McGovern, Louise Roe and Michelle Heaton who dived into the festivities, enjoying hot chocolate and taking part in the fun activities happening around the store.

A number of new holiday gifts were unveiled including a new collection for Disney’s forthcoming animated musical comedy Wish and exclusive Frozen items.

The Disney Choir was on hand to entertain the guests, accompanied by special appearances from Christmas Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto characters, while a dedicated Frozen area transported guests to the world of Arendelle and there was also a Wish themed space in-store.

The event was in support of Make-A-Wish and, too celebrate the release of Disney’s Wish and the launch of the Wish collection at shopDisney, Disney is donating USD $300,000 to Make-A-Wish International and its affiliates.

“The Disney Store and shopDisney truly embodies the spirit of the holiday season and today’s special festive event was a tremendous success, allowing us to showcase our fantastic range of products and bring the magic of Disney to life in a truly immersive and memorable way,” commented Rob Wypyski, brand marketing lead at shopDisney. “We’re dedicated to making the holiday season special for all families, and we’re thrilled to extend the magic in the days ahead, offering an array of wonderful gift ideas for the whole family that are certain to fill hearts with happiness and create lasting memories. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Disney Store and online at shopDisney.”
