New title for primary girls will feature raft of licensed characters and brands.
DC Thomson is to roll out a new monthly magazine aimed at primary girls next week, with a raft of licensed brands set to grace the pages.
Sweet launches on March 29 and will be aimed at six to ten year olds.
Content will cover all the latest trends, packed with stationery, accessories and funny content. Puzzles and ‘make-its’ will sit alongside current crazes such as collectables.
Brands wise, those confirmed include Trolls, Shopkins, Animal Jam, Num Noms and Santoro’s Kori Kumi.
Exclusive covermounts on the first issue include an Animal Jam in-game unlock for every reader, Shopkins trading cards and a collectable trio of fruity lip glosses.
General manager, Mike Watson, commented: “We’re thrilled to be launching in the primary girls’ market and expanding our portfolio. The magazine sector is not one to stand still, much like trends in children’s lives.
“This magazine is a great opportunity to capture everything current and popular, and pull it together for readers to enjoy.”
Maria Welch, head of publishing for magazines at DC Thomson, added: “We have an enviable track record of launching successful magazines in this constantly evolving market and are delighted to extend our award-winning, primary girls’ portfolio with Sweet.
“We’re confident that combining the hottest licensed brands with the experience and passion of our editorial team will produce an exciting and engaging magazine.”
