Title based on Noddy, Toyland Detective will launch in the summer.
DC Thomson has added to its licensed magazine portfolio – signing up to publish a new title based on DreamWorks Animation TV property, Noddy, Toyland Detective.
Aimed at ages three to six, the magazine will feature activities such as colouring, sticking, stories and puzzles, with the aim of encouraging independent thought and helping to build confidence.
It will also feature a covermounted gift linked to the key editorial pillars – problem solving, exploration, friendship, humour and creativity.
Maria Welch, head of children’s publishing at DC Thomson, said: “We’re thrilled to be publishing Noddy magazine.
“Noddy has been a staple of childhood entertainment for many years and our experienced editorial team are passionate about creating a magazine to engage and inspire this new generation of Noddy fans.”
Harriet Murphy, head of publishing for DreamWorks Animation, added: “We are so excited to see Noddy’s return to television accompanied by a wonderful magazine from DC Thomson. As young fans are getting to know the newly expanded world of Toyland onscreen, we’ll be presenting loads of exciting opportunities to keep the fun going on the pages of Noddy magazine.”
The deal was secured by Bulldog Licensing, DreamWorks’ UK publishing agent.
Licensing manager, Vicky Hill, commented: “We’re delighted to be working with DreamWorks Animation and DC Thomson on the new Noddy magazine.”
Noddy, Toyland Detective airs on Channel 5’s Milkshake block every weekday.
