Marvel Comics, Leeds United, Star Wars and Minions triumph for the company.
Having been feted himself at the recent TV Awards, This Morning and Songs of Praise, last night presenter Eamonn Holmes was handing out the trophies at the National Calendar Awards (NCA), held at London’s Stationer’s Hall.
Licensed calendars were well represented among the 400 calendars that were entered, with Danilo Promotions winning four categories – for its Marvel Comics, Leeds United and Star Wars 2016 calendars as well as a triumph for its Minions A5 diary.
Showing his strong Manchester United allegiance, when presenting Danilo with the award for its Leeds United calendar Eamonn quipped: “It will be the only thing they [Leeds United] win this year!”
Flame Tree Publishing won the Classic & Contemporary Retail Calendar award for its V&A Ravilious title while Eight Days a Week’s Royal Navy on the Front Line won the Retail Calendar – Transport award.
Danilo had to share the top winner’s spot with the Warwick University Boat Club team, who attended the event in their tight lycra rowing outfits. The rowing team’s calendar, which raises money for Sport Allies, a programme to reach out to young people challenged by bullying, homophobia or low self-esteem, won four awards.
