Publisher signals encouraging sales as the big calendar countdown gets underway.
Danilo’s product portfolio really is ‘all singing all dancing’ this year.
A collaboration with My Design Co (known for its Music Box cards and Cracker Cards) has resulted in Danilo launching a trio of innovative licensed musical advent calendars.
The Snowman, Frozen II and The Gruffalo’s Child advents will see children build up the scene gradually over the month, with stickers and magnetic stand-up characters found behind each dated door. Each calendar comprises of three magnetic characters that can be placed on the base’s moving mechanism enabling them to glide around the scene as the music plays.
The Snowman musical Advent is debuting in John Lewis, while all three are available this year on Danilo.com and Notonthehighstreet for £25.
While Liverpool FC fans are metaphorically ‘walking in the air’ with all their team’s triumphs on the pitch this year, another of Danilo’s innovations, a musical collector’s box set of Liverpool FC calendar, diary and pen look set to ‘score goals’ on Christmas lists. When the lid is lifted from the box, it plays the anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone.
An equivalent set has also been developed by Danilo for Manchester United, which plays the anthem Glory Glory Man United when the box lid is lifted.
Danilo is also set to hit the ‘musical high notes’ with its official licensed calendars for K pop icons, BTS (an acronym of Bangtan Sonyeondan or ‘Beyond the Scene’). In response to the phenomenal following for this South Korean boy band – which has 15 million subscribers on Instagram, has sold 15 million albums domestically and have been number one on iTunes in more than 65 countries – the Danilo BTS calendars (in two formats) anchor window displays in all Calendar Club’s stores.
Closer to home Danilo pulled out the stops to launch an official licensed calendar featuring the UK’s latest pop sensation, HRVY.
The new title debuted on November 8 to coincide with the launch of HRVY’s new single, Million Ways.
Danilo is to participate for the first time at this weekend’s MCM Comic Con, hosted at Birmingham’s NEC, sharing its calendar selection with the thousands of visitors.
“Our October sales for calendars, both online and in store were surprisingly good, with our like-for-likes well up. Long may it continue,” exclaimed Daniel Prince, managing director of Danilo Promotions.
“We will be unveiling our Top Ten Calendar Charts at the end of November. With this year having been very strong on the sports front, as well as entertainment brands such as Stranger Things, Peaky Blinders and Friends as well as the music stars, it is a hard one to call as to what will come top of the charts,” he teased.
