Danilo makes a date with Lionesses

With football finally come home thanks to the talents and hearts of England’s Lionesses, official licensee Danilo has run with the ball to get its latest products approved by the English FA.

As England’s women lifted the Euro 22 trophy at Wembley Stadium on 31 July, the Danilo team was already in sporting action sifting through the celebration photos to pick the best for its 2023 calendar, having been working with the FA as the official licensee for calendars and cards for the past three years.

And on 3 August, Danilo received official approval for the product that allows everyone to make a date with the Lionesses, the first senior England football team to win a major tournament since the men lifted the 1966 World Cup – as the current running joke says, the women have given up waiting for football to come home and done it themselves, with their 2-1 win over Germany going one better than the Lions who were runners-up in last summer’s men’s Euros.

Dan Grant, licensing director at Danilo, told sister title PG Buzz: “Being the official publisher of calendars and card for both the men’s and women’s England teams is a real honour for us over the past three years.

“Danilo has been keen to support the England Women’s team during this time, and has launched a calendar each year, as well as range of greeting cards. The awareness and appeal for women’s football continues to grow each year and that’s now set to continue with the Lionesses’ success at the Euros.

“Since the result, we’ve already seen a big jump in demand for the official calendar and cards, including personalised cards, plus we’re pleased to announce the 2023 England Women’s Calendar has already been updated to feature the Champions’ branding to highlight the team’s well-deserved achievement.”
