Danilo enjoys Comic Con success

Licensee unveils new limited edition 2020 calendars with reaction being “incredibly encouraging”.

Danilo enjoyed a strong showing at last weekend’s MCM Comic Con at Birmingham’s NEC, getting a positive reaction to its new official limited edition 2020 calendars.

The licensee created the special products across three key titles: Star Wars, Marvel’s Avengers and DC Comic’s The Joker.

Each calendar is individually numbered from 1 to 100, includes retro artwork and is presented with a certificate of authenticity in a striking envelope.

Promoted before the show on MCM Comic Con’s website and social media channels, Danilo saw a hugely positive response from fans, who were keen to stop and admire as well as purchase the exclusive £25 calendars the moment the doors to the event were opened on Saturday November 16.

The custom-created calendars are part of the company’s ongoing new product development programme to target core fans directly.

“We chose to focus on some of the biggest movie franchises of the moment and all time including Marvel Avengers and Star Wars which we know have an established fan base,” explained Dan Grant, licensing director at Danilo. “Plus we chose The Joker to complete the line-up following the recent success at the box office of the new Joker film. We felt that these titles would be strong enough to support limited edition print runs.

“The reaction we have received has been incredibly encouraging and will assist us in creating an even more tailored offering for our core fans going forward.”
