Best performing new kids’ show of 2015, according to new BARB figures.
The new-look Danger Mouse is the best performing new kids’ show of the year, according to industry ratings body BARB.
The data is for children aged six to 12 and four to 15, and is based on average figures for the first 15 episodes.
In addition, the show – which is aired on CBBC – is the number one in its time slot for boys aged four to nine (across all channels) and is also number one for four to 15 year olds (among dedicated children’s channels).
The new show began airing on September 28, and so far, a total of 2.4 million people have seen Danger Mouse on TV during the first three weeks of the run. It also has over two million views on the BBC’s iPlayer catch up service.
The total audience (including adult fans) grew by 11% between weeks one and three. The increase is even higher for four to 15 year olds, amounting to 14% in the same timeframe. The rise for the six to 12 audience is also 14%.
“We are absolutely thrilled with these ratings,” said Rick Glankler, evp and general manager at FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment.
“We anticipated from our initial early screenings that the public were going to like the show, so we are delighted to learn that Danger Mouse is entertaining millions of children and their parents across the country.”
