Familiar action heroes from the 1980’s and 1990’s introduced to new generation through downloadable content licences.
LA-based Creative Licensing has been busy expanding its roster of digital games – and introducing some familiar action heroes from the 1980’s and 1990’s to a new generation of gamers and fans through downloadable content licences.
For starters, legendary military hero John Rambo was enlisted in one of the most successful fighting franchises in video game history when he drew first blood inside the Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate universe as part of Kombat Pack 2 in late 2020.
In a deal with Wargaming, over 160 million players met World of Tanks’ newest tank commanders, Rambo and Snake Plissken (Escape From New York) as they joined the ranks of the team-based massively multiplayer online game in December 2020.
In addition, on January 21 Sarah Connor and the T-800 Endoskeleton from The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day joined Agent Jonesy and over 350 million players worldwide in Epic Games’ Fortnite (pictured).
Also in January, Dead by Daylight from Behaviour Interactive extended its DLC licence for Michael Myers from the iconic horror film, Halloween. Over 15 million players have experienced the asymmetrical multiplayer horror game.
Finally, Evil Dead: The Game from Diversion 3 is due for release in summer 2021. The game will feature Evil Dead 2 as a fundamental part of the gameplay.
